We've all been sitting around waiting for content producers to sue YouTube over copyright infringements now that the company is backed by Google's deep pockets. YouTube has only about $11.5 million dollars in venture capital, meaning if you sued the company you weren't likely to get much out of it, other than your video being pulled down off the site. But Google's worth billions, so once the search giant's purchase of YouTube is complete, you can expect the lawsuits to fly.But somebody's not waiting -- apparently a lawsuit has already been filed against Google over copyrighted content on the less popular Google Video service.
Google reported the copyright lawsuit as part of a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. There's no information yet on who exactly filed the lawsuit. Google admitted in its SEC filing that this may be the first of many lawsuits it will face once the YouTube deal is completed.
